The federal rule at 49 CFR Part 380 Appendix D defines eleven specific theory units every S endorsement applicant must complete before sitting for the state knowledge test. This course covers all eleven — in plain language, with real-world reasoning, grounded in the regulations that govern school bus operations every day.

This course assumes you already hold the Passenger (P) endorsement or are preparing for both endorsements at the same time. General passenger material — ADA compliance, hours of service, baggage, drawbridges, weigh stations — is covered in the separate Passenger (P) Endorsement course. This course focuses exclusively on the school-bus-specific federal training units defined in 49 CFR Part 380 Appendix D.
FMCSA COMPLIANCE
ELDT.Courses is listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. Completion of this course satisfies the federal theory requirement for the School Bus endorsement. Upon completion, your training record is transmitted to the FMCSA automatically — no paperwork required on your end.
This course covers theory training only. Behind-the-wheel (BTW) training must be completed separately with a qualified instructor in an actual school bus.
